Molly Our Braveheart! 11/19/91--1/30/02 Loyal friend, confidant, funny,
smart, She
was excited every time I came home; she welcomed me with “kisses” at the top
of the stairs and then begged to have her
tummy rubbed. In my home office,
Molly’s place was on top of the desk on a pillow right beside me.
She loved to snuggle in bed in the
mornings and insisted we go to bed on time at night.
There were times when I literally had
to “tuck her in” so I could finish reading a book. She took her job as” back yard
security dog” to heart. She would
chase squirrels, possums, and birds away but
loved to visit with the neighbors (they all
knew her by name).
She had a set route she took every
morning to make sure everything was as it should be. Molly waited to eat her dinner
until we were eating. When her dish
was empty, she would stand and look at me until I put in more food.
She would then walk away. She
just wanted to make sure she had food. Molly
was sure that everybody that came in the house
was there to see her. She was well
behaved and she would wait patiently until they acknowledged her and petted her,
and then she would move on to the next guest. I think it would be safe to say
that Molly “ruled our house, yard, and hearts," I wouldn’t have wanted it any
other way. Molly passed away in January 2002
after a short illness. It’s still
painful for me to think of her as gone. I
have wonderful memories and she will Jean
